Shatter cones only form below meteor impacts and during nuclear implosions in Earth. They are considered as “first-hand” proof that meteor impact indeed happened even if the original crater is long gone due to erosion. This specimen is from Jabal Waqf es Suwwan crater, Jordan. Length of the specimen is 87 mm.
