Gear Lever Knob (Saab 9.3)

A concept of a GEAR LEVER KNOB for a saver fastening at the end of the gear lever.I designed this as an alternative fastening for cars, made bei company SAAB, for the models of series "Saab 9.3".Recently the gear lever knob has been "catapulted" upwards by the compression spring, because the press joint were getting loose. And this was not the first time.The GEAR LEVER KNOB is not designed for 3D printing, because it is without a good material saving.A recommended material could be aluminium.One threaded pin only - radial placed as shown - can help to avoid the problem, above described.The outer shape of the GEAR LEVER KNOB can be modified, according to your own ideas and can surely optimized for 3D printing.If the knob should be manufactured from wooden material a seperate metallic insert (tube) is recommended.Notes:The bellow is a simplified model.The bushing, inserted into the pulling sleeve, is made of deformable foam.The pulling sleeve below the gear lever knob must be pulled up against the force of the compression spring, to engage reverse gear.In this case the force of the compression spring increases and in worst case the gear lever knob can get loose, if the press joint has been relaxed after a longer time.An additional form locking by a threaded pin is a very simple solution, even for a possible replacing of the gear lever knob.Two assemblies are available as STEP files (.stp) and two resp. three components as STL files (.stl)
