Shelf edge smartphone dock

Shelf edge smartphone dock

I have a shelf in my desktop to rise my monitor. I found that a regular dock was too big, so I designed this dock that keeps the phone "flying" out of the shelf using very little space over it, and allows it to keep charging. With these dimensions, it fits an iPhone 5 even fitted in a thick case. It should be useful for any smartphone / tablet / flat thing thinner or equal to 10mm. There are two STL files, one is for a 7,75 mm shelf and includes an Apple logo. It is, obviously, formed by two parts. The other one was designed to fit a 1.85 mm glass, and have no logo. You need two of it, symmetrical. Due to printing issues, the "arms" keeping the phone safe from falling in this one were really thin, but even broken, the phone never tends to fall due to the inclination. If any design can't fit your shelf, you can try rescaling it, maybe just only in one axis. Scale 10x if needed!! (Default Inventor configuration when exporting to STL measures in cm instead of mm...)
