Unlike the Soyuz though it is larger in size with new construction. It first flew unmanned in 1999. Its first manned launch was in 2003. Shenzhou-9 was the first Shenzhou to dock with the Tiangong-1 space station (2012). Shenzhou-10 docked with Tiangong in 2013. Both flights carried three person crews. The Tiangong space station, China's first, was launched in 2011 and remains in orbit. Later space stations (Tiangng-2 and 3) will be launched over the next decade. Various modules will be put together in orbit to create the station.
