This protective cover threads onto the headstock spindle of Sherline and Taig lathes. It protects the spindle nose threads from damage when turning between centers, using collets or other jobs where a chuck is not fitted. Designed in Fusion 360 non-commercial. The thread is a 3/4-16 UNF with a deep vee root and slightly offset faces to allow for good action between the PLA and the steel nose thread. It has a knurled external finish for ease of mounting and removal.
