This package contains a set of 19 objects for âshodoâ - literally âThe Way of Writingâ. The ninteen objects in this package are -- Four âmaster qualityâ âfudeâ, or brushes, One fude hosoji (âfine brushâ), Three fude chu (âmedium thickness brushesâ), two of medium size and one of large size. The fude are all exact models of those made by the Nara Brush Association in Nara, Japan. A âSuzuriâ (ink stone) of the type created in the Muromochi Period (1392-1573), Six âSumiâ (ink sticks), (One is unwrapped, One is wrapped in gold foil with a label, four are wrapped and grouped together in a typical set as you would buy them in a store,) Two âWashiâ (hand made paper for writing) One is a single grey sheet, One is two sheets, the gray overlaying a brown sheet of washi, A âSui-tekiâ (porcelain water jug that is also a paperweight) A cast iron âBunchinâ (a paper weight) in the simple shape of a grouper fish. This kind of bunchin is also used as a âbrush restâ to hold the fude when it is full of ink, A red lacquer âSuzuri Bakoâ (a box for the small objects). This suzuri bako is modeled after a famous suzuri bako of the Edo Period, currently valued at $1,500 USD. The suzuri bako is in two pieces - a lower (bottom) half, and an upper (top) half. You can position the two pieces any way you like, and place the objects in the suzuri bako. A second copy of the full closed box is included to make for easy positioning in your scene. Two bamboo mats, One is a long âomomiâ for drying fresh calligraphy, The second is a small square sometimes used to place the fude, suzuri and sumi while painting. One sample sheet of fresh calligraphy called âThe Color Of Pineâ. The words on this piece translate in English to the folk wisdom, âThe color of pine remains the same through the ages.â One completed ink sume brush painting mounted on a scroll with blue backing. Each item is a very high resolution model and all are textured with authentic Japanese textures. A full set of PBR materials is available upon request to the author.
