Shop Knife #1 - A Sturdy Razor Knife w/ A Stand

thingiverse

This is Shop Knife #1, and it's made to live on your workbench and be versatile enough for both light and heavy duty cutting tasks. Why another razor handle? Because I wanted a strong, hefty, and comfortable design, and I couldn’t find a current design I liked enough. It features a thick, omnidirectional handle, a large interface area for the blade, requires no metal fasteners by locking the blade with a simple printed pin, and includes a stand for easy access and safe storage. The exposed blade length is just over 1/2 the length of a blade, for even blade wear and greater cutting versatility. PRINT INFO: Print all components vertically. All components are made to fit as-printed, no sanding required. HANDLE: Any infill over 15% will produce a sturdy handle, but instead it's best to increase the wall thickness for strength, and increase the infill percentage based on how much mass you desire. STAND: Because of the tight tolerance between the handle and stand (I don't like interface play), the stand must be of a greater mass than the handle, or it’ll stick from friction. So, infill percentages 50%+ are recommended to provide inertia, but you could also Velcro or glue the base down.
