Quickie functional build of a belt guard for newly acquired "rare" ShopSmith M5990 Pro Planer. First version (also posted) vibrated too much. This covers upper pulley and belt only adjacent to height adjustment wheel. I have never seen the original part (which looks like plastic in online photos and videos). My machine has 3.50 in. OD pulleys @ 12.50 in. and is the "pro" (standalone) version mounted on a stand with attached drive motor. Threaded holes in the planer are 1/4-20 in. 0.075 in. steel with an easy 5 in. diameter bend that can be done manually. Welded on inside top, on tabs from behind, and painted.
