1/4 - 20 Shoulder Nut and Spacer - This fastener is used on our "Skate Wheel Conveyor". When we redeployed this piece of equipment from storage it was missing one of these odd fasteners. Can't find one at any hardware store. Grainger has been trying to source the part for weeks. Found one supplier but only if I want 50 of them. The original spacer was Nylon or Delrin. A shoulder nut is like a barrel connector with inner threads. The end is capped with a wide shoulder like washer and a hex head. (An alternative head might use a Phillips or hex socket). The Skate Wheel Conveyor uses a length of "all-thread" threaded rod as an axle to hold an array of wheels and spacers. One of the shoulder nuts on each end holds everything together. If the threaded rod was just a bit longer, a lock nut would have worked. But in this case, the end of the rod was flush with hole in the support legs. Don't know how long the ABS will hold up. Don't have the temperature control to do nylon successfully. Might try carbon fiber PLA...
