If you have ever had to (or thought of) replacing the pads on the Philips SHP9500 headphones (which are not "user replaceable"), these are for you. If you have ever seen it, you know the stock ear pad retention ring is very large, and is too large to fit most replacement pads [some can stretch to fit, but you risk tearing]. This simple ring snaps into place of the stock retention ring and allows you to mount smaller replacement pads - such as the Brainwavz HM5 pads [which I like]. While these rings look flimsy, I had no issues when printing them out of standard [hard] PLA. They are just flexible enough to fit over the clips, while being strong enough to stay on in day to day use. Initially, I tried making a design that would have slots built in for the clips, but then I realized the clips are simply the perimeter of a circle - so I simple cut out the exact right size of that circle. Also, the clips taper near the top [as designed] and should be mounted with the top facing "down" [towards the driver]. Note: I am not going to tell you how to remove the stock pads for liability reasons - just google how to do it and you should be able to find pictures and / or videos.
