Feb 23, 2023 UPDATE: I have a full build guide here: https://sites.google.com/view/joystick-keyboard/home which explains how to get the updated STL files, print everything, and how to wire everything up including the parts and tools required. Jan 28, 2023 UPDATE: Tech Yesterday has released his STL files for a much better design, so I recommend going with that over this project. See the video: https://youtu.be/t-vLg0Tr7XY This is my attempt at recreating the custom keypad with joystick hybrid gaming controller made by Tech Yesterday on YouTube. I'm calling it the "SideVector" (previously code-named DentedCube). It supports standard Cherry MX keyboard switches or compatible clones (14mm square holes). The idea is that you print out the various parts and then glue them together and solder the wires to a USB game controller such as a PS3 DualShock clone controller, sometimes called DoubleShock 3 which are around $12 USD on eBay or Amazon. THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS -- most importantly the palm rest has to be shaped and optimized better. The joystick mount should fit a PS3 dualshock joystick module. SideVector_v2.blend is the main file, however use the STL files for best results. Some of the objects have been split in half in the STL files to accommodate printing without needing supports.
