After redesigning the TLER's design I overall shrunk it down and added some new points to it. First I used a squared bit at the ends to join them together with super glue or your glue of choice. you can still use the rifle from the original figure with the cannon and if you download my alternative design for the blade attachment part ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4393654 ) you can peg them into the sides of the cannon giving an aesthetic similar to the Transformers Prime interpretation of the character. in tank mode, you can still use the cannon and attach the rifle with blades attached and it should fit correctly
