Silicon Bead-based Air Dryer

Silicon Bead-based Air Dryer

prusaprinters

Straightforward 3 part print for a 20 cm long, 10 cm high, 4 cm (bottom) to 2 cm (top) wide silicon bead-based air dryer. Designed to fit on the side of an Ikea HJÄLPA 60 x 55 cm wire basket (see attached image).

It fills approximately 77 ml of beads, which at a silica bead density of 2,2 g/ml means around 150-170 g of beads can be used for one filling,

The grid keeps in 2 mm diameter beads, with mesh at 0.5 mm thickness, so force line width to 0.5 mm for this print.

The divider (green) is angled at the top to make it easier to fill up the front compartment, which is in contact with air to dry it. By lifting up the divider, silicon beads that have turned dark can be quickly transfered to the back compartment, where they can stay for some time until the compartment gets full and one wants to regenerate them.

Note that the divider needs some supports for the two handles.

Update: as the hexagon grid may be a bit difficult to print, I've also included a square grid (1.8 mm side length, 0.6 mm frame width).
