Yes more is better - when it comes to bearing holders anyway. Tired of snapping those pesky bearing holders when you tighten the screw one turn too many? well I know I am so this design uses four individual bearing holders keyed into position on a rigid x-carriage platform. No laminar separation or splitting issues here. Also features twin fan mounts fore and aft for my fan holders and VGA fans like here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29158 The four other holes in the top of the platform are for 5mm LEDs -connect 4 blue or red ones in series directly across 12 volts - like your fan supply for example. you don't really expect this to be unbreakable do you? 19 September - Added fixed belt grips to give clearance from the 8mm x-axis rods. Instructions Print out the parts, you will need one x-carriage platform plus 4 bearing holders from here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:30365 Run a 3mm drill through all the machine screw holes after printing and use a 7mm drill bit by hand to clear the screw head recesses on the top side (the extruder needs to pass ofer these). You will need to carefully cut eight 3mm machine screws to hold the bearing holders into their recesses so that they do not protrude past the captive nuts - this is where the LM8UU bearings will sit. Place the assembled carriage on the x-rails or runn the two rails through the LM8UU's and then tighten up all the bearing holder screws - this will ensure it is correctly aligned. I have used the usual belt clamp/tightener arrangemenr and will upload a photos of it when I finish building this printer. You also need the fixed belt grips that miss the x-axis rods (or trim the ones you have with a sharp blade).
