A 50mm axial blower/fan is probably the best alternative you can get for your 3D Printer and i can only recommend the upgrade if you are still running on the standard issue 30mm fan (or even on a 40mm fan). There are some fancy all surround part cooler designs for the i3 out there, but i ran into lots of trouble with at least two of them. The cooler ring would eventually sag down a little, and the tight tolerances would case it to push over your print. Also i had my well isolated extruder block melt a large hole in my last fan-duct. This one is kept simpler, yet very effective, and i was not able to make out a difference by directly comparing prints from this with a print from my previous toric fan-duct. Lastly the engagement angle of the fan output is 40° which should be a lot more efficient than a 90° bend and the fan muzzle is as close to the hotend as i dared to. Well this is the answer Assembly This one should be pretty self explanatory. The small duct piece gets glued to the matching air output on the axial blower, if your part is slightly warped, give it a good pass on some sand paper on a flat surface. while you're at it, you could also true up the fan-output, or just use more glue. Make sure you orient the piece the right way round! When the glue has dried, proceed to mounting the Blower to the bracket and the bracket to the printer with the tiny screws from the original fan duct. Just connect the wiring (you may also want to manage that a little), and you are good to go.
