Simple Adjustable Fan Mount

Simple Adjustable Fan Mount

These are a couple of simple joints that I designed to make positioning my fans accurately a little easier. I made these arms to fit the extruder I designed and so that I could keep using some fans I have gotten attached to, but should work just as well on other mounts. The segments are all 4.5mm tall and has room for an M3 bolt to be sunk in 2.5mm. On the underside each has an M3 nut trap so it is easy to tighten two segments in place and lock a joint into position. The idea is to combine several segments into an adjustable arm that can be repositioned easily. UPDATE 8/27/2016: New version of this piece, it's a little taller for strength. I got rid of the pan head sinks and replaced them with hex traps, since most M3 bolts will fit in a hex trap just as easy. I also changed the lengths so that there weren't so many close in size. Finally, I added a version where the hex traps are both on the same side, for navigating tricky clearance situations where you may not be able to use the other style. Fans are recommended if you want to avoid too much cleanup.
