I hate complex designs so I made my own collars to prevent using supports, custom pins, TPU... Hope you like it!! If so please leave a like - THE MODEL You'll find 4 models. Three 50mm collars and a 28mm collar. The 3 versions of the 50mm one are the exact same except for the screws you'll need to use. You can either use M3, M4 or M5 hardware depending on what you have on hand. Adding to these you'll find some higher interference "inserts" to be used in the case the collar is not tight enough. I also included Inventor files so you can download and edit the model. You can open thehese files with Fusion360 if you don't use Inventor. - THE HARDWARE You can choose to use M3, M4 or M5 screws to build the 50mm collar. You'll need the following screws: - 8 M4x40 - 2 M4x12 - LET'S TALK MATERIALS I used PLA cause I don't have better polymers on hand. I would suggest using ABS or other engineering materials cause creep will be a big issue with these collars. If you notice some loss in grip strength try to reprint the lock components and use the higher interference inserts. In any case to prevent deformation over time I suggest not to leave the collars clipped on the bar when not being used. - CLEARANCES Every piece except for the inserts is modeled to nominal size. This means that the hole for an M4 screw is modeled to be 4mm. It works for me but you may need to reduce or enlarge the holes depending on your printer's accuracy. Just set the xy compensation in the slicer to fine tune the model. SAFETY DISCLAIMER: I assume no responsibility for any phisical or material damage that may result from the use of this collar.
