The driver for this design was the need to create a lens hood for a used Voigtlander 42.5mm Lens, which was bought without a hood. I'd also got the Panasonic Leica 15mm lens which came without a hood also. This design is configurable to the extent that changing parameters in the OpenSCAD script accommodates both. Key features are below. 1. Make a snug fit and then use an M3 screw to tighten a compression collar. 2. Two parts: Hood and Compression Collar, lines 133 & 134. 3. Petal design. To change the petal shape experiment with the factors on lines 114-120. 4. Originally designed for a Voigtlander 42.5mm f/0.95 Nokton MFT manual lens 5. Compression collar provides better distrution of clamping force and prevents metal on metal contact with the holding screw. 6. Designed initially for using M3 brass insert for clamp screw but can be modified to create a hole for tapping M3 or M4. 7. Parameters associated with *** will need changing or at least checking. 8. Suggest all modifications are done running the ClampXSection() module on line 140 9. To view the petal cutter run module PetalCutter() on line 142 10. Parameters used are for the 15mm Panasonic Leica 15mm MFT lens The main SCAD file is GenericHood, although I've included my threading script which allows the direct printing of the thread for the holding screw, if required. This would require the file to be referenced from the GenericHood.SCAD and the appropriate thread module called. I have included the STL files for the Voigtlander and the Pana-Leica lens as examples, as well as the cross section model of both so these can be viewed without going into OpenSCAD. The parameters which must or might require changing are all commented, hopefully sufficiently.
