SIMPLE Filament Spool Holder for the MakerBot

thingiverse

This is a simple filament spool holder to be mounted on top of a MakerBot. 100% MakerBot printable. Requires no non-printable parts other than PVC glue or epoxy. Instructions You will need some kind of ABS or PLA-friendly adhesive such as epoxy, PVC glue (and primer; either purple or clear), gorilla glue, JB Weld, etc. to complete this project. Download and print the following: Base Stem Bottom Top Attach the base to your MakerBot using one of the existing square caps the front-top of your machine. Glue the "fat" end of the stem into the smaller hole in the "bottom" piece. Drop the "thin" end of the stem into the base once the glue has cured. Place your filament spool over the "bottom" section of the spool and insert the "top" into the spool and "bottom". Its pretty self-explanatory once you print everything. Note: You do not need to glue the stem into the base. I allow it to "float" inside the base for low friction. You can use glue but it is not required.
