Simple Multi-rotor Landing Gear

I'm designing a straightforward landing gear system for multi-rotor aircraft that takes its cue from the Simple Delrin Landing Gear found at FliteTest.com (http://store.flitetest.com/simple-delrin-landing-gear/). I built a hex-copter utilizing their electro-hub system, which includes landing gear designed to break through zip-ties securing them to motor spars during hard landings, dispersing impact energy and preventing more extensive damage. The FliteTest landing gear served me well until I upgraded my hex to include a 2-axis gimbal mounted under the frame. This particular design draws inspiration from its predecessor but has been scaled up so that the gimbal doesn't get obstructed when it touches down on solid ground, albeit requiring two zip-ties to link it securely to the motor spars as usual.
