Simple Parabolic Microphone

Simple Parabolic Microphone

This is an arm for holding a lavalier microphone in a DIY parabolic dish. It is really a lavalier microphone holder that fits into a 3/4" threaded bulkhead fitting. The bulkhead fitting can be placed into a parabolic dish, large bowl, trash can lid or just about anything shaped to reflect/focus sound on a mic. The v2 files allowed me to increase the focus distance to the mic. I was not happywith the threads and removed them for this version. Items used on this project: 1. Large clear plastic pebbled bowl (mine is 400mm across) 2. 3/4" PVC threaded bulkhead fitting 3. 3/4" PVC threaded elbow 4. 3/4" PVC pipe (makes a nice handle) 5. Lavalier microphone 6. A few smalll zip-ties The arm, base and bell cover is what I used. Files are also included to print the whole thing with supports. Configured as shown, this microphone is 90mm from center/bottom of the bowl.
