This is a very simple but reliable filament holder for prusa i3, makerbot spools. I know this is pretty specific, but I thought I would at least share the idea so others can make their own for their particular spools. Notes: Ultra-fast spool changing, Takes seconds! Only 2 small pieces to print Requires only 1 piece of additional hardware: 1 608 bearing Instructions: Print both pieces. I had to print the bearing holder @ 102% size to get the fit I wanted but my printer was having a bad day. The spool pin was normal 100%. Use channel-locks or similar tool to pop the bearing in. Use channel locks or similar tool to push bearing holder into spool, You want to get the bearing near-flush with 1 side of the spool. Remove the top screw and spacer from your LCD screen, of the side of your choice. Slide the spool pin over the printer frame so that the holes line up with the screw you removed. And also so the thin 'leg' is in front. Re-install screw without spacer. Slide on spool with the bearing flush-side down. Enjoy Come back to thingiverse to leave comment
