Simple Shrinky Dinks Display Stand (Parametric)

Simple Shrinky Dinks Display Stand (Parametric)

thingiverse

This simple display stand was modeled after one included with a box of Shrinky Dinks toys that my kids got. ( http://www.shrinkydinks.com/ -- You should go out and buy lots of these, because they're loads of fun and the kids will have a blast!) The default size will fit a standard shrunken Shrinky Dinks piece. It's parametric, though, so you can change the size to fit other stuff as well. UPDATE: These are pretty popular with my kids, so I've added an STL with eight. Instructions 1) Print. 2) Insert Shrinky Dinks piece (or whatever else you want to put in it). 3) Chances are your kid now thinks you're the coolest dad/mom on the planet, so enjoy it while it lasts! There are three versions of the STLs: One has a single stand, one has four of the same (...x4.stl), and one was eight of the same (...x8.stl). If you want to adjust the size, you can use the OpenSCAD file. The following parameters are available: baseThickness: The thickness of the base baseWidth: The width of the base oval baseLength: The length of the base oval tabThickness: The thickness of each vertical "tab" tabRadius: The radius of the vertical tabs tabSeparation: How far apart the tabs are $fn: Quality of circles
