I have been attempting to create a functional stand or mini table for some time now. Reading "Google Sketchup 8 for Dummies" proved highly beneficial in this regard. Although not a designer, my persistence has helped me progress. I haven't printed it yet but plan to do so with the flat side facing the build platform upside down.
