thingiverse
A simple wheel for testing out printing in flexible materials, such as MadeSolid's FlexSolid filament. Designed to be printable without any supports, as well with a hollow center, to provide more flex in the final print.
NOTE: Will update design once successful print has been made, no guarantees this prints well yet.
How I Designed This
Created with Autodesk Inventor, I drew a simple profile sketch of the wheel, then used the "Revolve" tool to create the base shape. Then I created a work plane tangent to the surface of the wheel, drew a sketch of the treads, and used the "emboss" tool to extrude a single tread on the wheel. Then I used the "circular pattern" tool to repeat the treads all the way around the wheel.
