Simple Zip Tie Saddle

Simple Zip Tie Saddle

Zip tie saddle for mounting wires and stuff. I needed a bunch of these for a project and they're ridiculously priced at the hardware store (like $5 for 10 saddles), so I figured I would just print some out. Supports zip ties with a pass-through dimension of 5mm x 2mm (basically a standard sized zip tie) Instructions I printed this out on my Ultimaker with 100% infill, 100mm/sec feed rate, and .1mm layer height. I also had retraction turned on for spans >= 2mm. If you print it as is, it will need to make a bridge of 5mm, so keep that in mind- it should be pretty easy so long as you don't print too hot. This saddle is designed to use double sided mounting tape (the white foam kind with green checker backing). I printed mine with PLA and with a pretty tight zip tie it seemed pretty solid. If you're going to hang anything heavier duty on it, maybe consider printing in ABS or Nylon. This part could easily be remixed to have a countersunk screw hole- if anybody would find something like that useful let me know and I'll put one up.
