Simpsons Martin Honor Roller Soapbox Derby Racer

Model of Martin's "Honor Roller" from the Simpon's soapbox derby episode. More or less accurate to what I could tell from the episode, with some slight liberties taken. There is a slot for a windshield which I laser cut, but easy to just take some thin plastic like lexan or something and hand cut to fit. On the underside there are three openings for wheels. I don't have files for these any more. The wheels I used were thin plywood disks with a hole for an axle that gets glued into the cross slots. Doesn't need to be functional for a display model, however mine did rotate. Shown in the completed picture is having been filled, smoothed, and sanded with modeling putty, primed and painted gloss white, then masked and painted the black. I printed some decals based on what they looked like and placement on the car in the episode. Decals were printed on transparent decal material. Sadly I don't have the decal files anymore but they could be easily shopped again from a screen shot of the episode. Really pleased with how this model turned out. Let me know if you make it and please upload a make picture! UPDATE: I have located the decal files and include them in the download. Also included is a dwg file for a 3-view which has the masking lines I used. Print the dwg out to 1:1 scale. You can then use a hobby knife to cut through the paper along the masking lines and onto the masking material of your choice. Make sure you use a quality mask... the curves of the model like to allow some paint bleed. Spray from a distance and directly above the surface you are painting. Multiple light coats instead of fewer heavy coats will reduce the chance of paint bleeding under the mask.
