Soldering optional. Screw positive to positive all the way from the power supply to the motor, and negative to negative. Bottom of motor controller clearly labels power and motor. The power adapter tolerance is intended to be friction fit. if your printer prints it slightly too small, a deburring can be used to widen it for that friction fit. Wire everything before inserting it into the box for ease. The motor controller cap should slide right off, unscrew the nut under it, slide it in the hole, and reconnection the nut. Motor is held on with 2 M3 screws. Motor shaft should be towards the bottom of the motor.</p> <p><strong>Wire length minimums</strong>:<br/> power to motor controller: 2.5" or 63.5mm<br/> motor controller to motor: 7.75" or 196mm</p> <p><strong>What is the purpose of socks?</strong><br/> The print was designed to print on most printers. When you hold a larger item, the turner + motor weight is not always enough to prevent the turner from tipping over. Socks extend the base in the direction of the item to be held, providing a more stable base.</p> <p><strong>My turner has started to make a loud squeal. Did something go wrong?</strong><br/> No. The friction of the rod turning in the support arm is normally the issue. A little drop of a lubricate oil can be used. 1 to 2 drops of a silicon based lube placed where the rod and support arm meet, will coat the surface. Normally we do it while its running. This may need to be reapplied on a regular basis. We found about once every 3-4 months on average.</p>
