SkateBoardHolder v1.0 - vertical, parametric, and modular --------------------------------------------------------- Vertical - Save space in you appartment by storing your SkateBoards vertically! Parametric - Note, however, that your Board will only stand upright when the holder's height matches your Boards Distance from Tail to Axis exactly. As not all SkateBoards are created equal, the parametric SCAD source is included to allow for precise height adjustments. See below instructions on how to measure and calculate the correct height. Modular - In order to save costly and time-consuming reprints in case of height readjustments, the holder's design is modular. While the base is the same for all Boards, the Holder-Part is height-adjusted to each individual SkateBoard. Hence, the perfect fit can be iteratively approximated by fast and cheap printing of better and better holder-parts. Furthermore, 2 Feature make the SkateBoardHolder suitable for a multiple Skateboarders in one Household-setting: 1. The Base-Parts feature Pins to stack an arbitrary number of them together forming a row of SkateBoards 2. Optional Nametags provide clarity about which Board belongs into which Holder - which is quite important due to the fitting procedure mentioned above. ### Instructions: 1. Put your Board vertically onto the floor, letting it stand vertically on its tail. 2. Measure the distance from the floor to the lower axis of your Board in cm. 3. Add 1cm (the thickness of the base plate) and remember this value as the height of your holder. 4. Open the SkateBoardHolder.scad File using OpenSCAD and set the height parameter to the height you just calculated. 5. Set the name parameter to the name of the SkateBoard's owner. 6. Follow the instructions in the scad-File to produce 3 STL Files - SkateBoardHolder-Base.stl - always the same for all SkateBoardHolders - SkateBoardHolder-Holder-
.stl - depends on the height parameter - needs to be re-generated after changing the height - SkateBoardHolder-NameTag-
.stl - depends on the name parameter - needs to be re-generated after changing the name 7. Use your favourite Slicing software to slice the STLs into gcode. - SkateBoardHolder-Base.stl - is designed to require no support. - SkateBoardHolder-Holder-
.stl - must be printed with support. After carefully removing the support, it should fit the Base part. - SkateBoardHolder-NameTag-
.stl - optional, requires neither support nor raft. 8. Happy printing!
