I got the idea to decorate my boring sketchbook and I decided to design it in my favorite Japanese style. I planned to make in it a small herbarium of real sakura, which is growing in the dedicated to Sendai square. It didn’t turn out exactly as I wanted, for example, when I glued the image of the sakura on the cover, it get wrinkled and I had to mask wrinkles with extra elements and gold paint. At first I wanted to make only corners for my sketchbook, but then I found Olde Bookbinding Fittings for Notebook and made my own design based on those models. I also made mounts for eraser and pen or pencil. I’m not sure that these models can be suitable for all books, notebooks and sketchbooks and they may have to be scaled or modified. Use paper clips to create hinges for lock and an eraser case.
