Skip-E

Skip-E

Meet Skip-E! This robot is an idea for a newly designed Chip-E. Instead of being a biped, Skip-E has two feet that are used to 'skip' and two wheels for locomotion. These two wheels are only 180 degrees to match the rotation of the 180 degree servos, but the obvious problem is overcome by its ability to skip. By lifting its body off of the ground on its feet, Skip-E is then able to freely rotate his wheels, allowing them to be reset into whatever position you choose. To move forward, Skip-E lifts up, puts its wheels back, and then lowers and rolls forward, repeating the process. We hoped to come up with a new approach to a fun robot that can be programmed to have many features. By having two feet and two half-wheels, Skip-E becomes more versatile and opens the door for more tricks, dances, and geeky robot fun.
