Skoda Felicia headlight adjuster electronic motor adapter

Skoda Felicia headlight adjuster electronic motor adapter

This model is my first self-made 3D design, created with openSCAD. The Skoda Felicia came fitted with hydraulic headlight adjusters from the factory. These are notoriously bad for failing. As there's now a requirement to have operational headlight adjusters from inside the cabin in the UK after the May 2018 MOT changes, my car failed it's MOT and was taken off the road. Since parts for the Felicia are hard to get in the UK now, I decided to replace my failed hydraulic units with electric motors like modern cars have. This model is the result. It's an adapter that fits into the Skoda Felicia headlight adjuster hole in the headlight housing, and a Skoda Fabia mark 1 headlight adjuster motor can engage with it and lock into place. an M4 bolt was inserted into the end of the headlight adjuster motor (with precision and patience it is possible to do this free hand with a good tapper set and screw driver). Obviously, you still need to wire up the electronic motor and get a variable resistor to make it all work. I ended up using a switch from a Seat Leon. It's rough and ready as I'm not an expert in this! I've included the openSCAD files for anyone wanting to make a better revision. Creative commons with attribution license.
