SKR Mini E3 Electronics Case (Teaching Tech Remix)

thingiverse

This is a remix for the right side of TeachingTech's rear electronics case for the Ender 3 and Ender 3 Pro. It fits the stock Melzi board or the BigTreeTech SKR Mini E3. The goal was to improve airflow for people who have the SKR Mini E3, or who have the Melzi board and no TL smoothers. This is meant to be used with the stock lid and the left side of the case from TeachingTech, or any of the excellent remixes. I have provided a version with and without support for a cable chain. For the version with a cable chain, please print the cover as well. The cover will snap in place with some force, it's a very tight fit. Holes are provided in the chain attachment if you want to run some zip ties to secure the wire in place. I used 16 cable chain links between the case and the bed. In my opinion, having the cable chain connector at the bottom of the case makes the curve of the chain much more natural, but it's a more "permanent" installation than simply being able to lift the wire from the top of the case. With the bed all the way to the rear, there is still plenty of room to remove the lid if you need to get to the electronics. Parts are oriented correctly and will print without supports. ### Installation Tips: * The wire for the Z endstop is very short. I recommend switching it with the wire for the Y endstop, which is identical but longer. You can simply apart the wire for the Y endstop from the wire for the Y stepper motor. * If you use the version with the chain, the cables for the Y endstop and Y stepper motor are meant to go through the notch at the top of the case. I prefer this location to having it on the left side of the case. * Wire all the screw terminals BEFORE attaching it to the left side of the case, you'll thank me later. Just make sure to route the power cable under the "bridge" of the left side of the case. * Save your screws from the original Melzi board, they're meant to be reused to mount the board in this case. ### References Ender 3 all in one, universal rear electronics case (TeachingTech): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3688967 Ender 3 Cable Chain (johnniewhiskey): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2920060 Instructions and wiring for the SKR Mini E3: https://letsprint3d.net/how-to-install-the-skr-mini-e3-board-ender-3/
