Skyrim Dragon Skull with Custom Eyes

Skyrim Dragon Skull with Custom Eyes

thingiverse

Remix of: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2543584 I love the idea of using marbles or ball bearings for the eyes of creatures so I added eye sockets and rotated and cut the model in half for quickier printing with less support material required. If properly printed, the "eyes" should just snap in. The right side slightly snaps in better than the left, obviously I did something different per side, but not sure what happened. You can test different size eyes by just printing an eye socket and scaling the model if needed. Previous test attempts show that scaling it 164% for 0.625" dia marbles work well - but I have not tried it with this file. Always measure the marbles prior to printing as they have huge variances, hence why I like using Ball Bearings. Yes, you will have to glue the model together, but zip ties work great for holding the model together while glueing. Skyrim_375_eyes.stl is for 3/8" (0.375) diameter eyes. Printer: XYZ Da Vinci Mini 3D Modeler: AutoDesk Inventor with MeshEnabler, AutoDesk Meshmixer 3D Slicer: XYZware Settings: No Rafts YES Supports (scars from supports will be on inside which is nice) 10% Infill Normal Shell 0.20mm Layer Medium Speed Skyrim_375_eyes.stl Filament: 12.5meters of 1.75mm PLA Run Time: ~5.5 Hours
