SLA Cube Challenge and test cube

thingiverse

A hollow 50mm cube to challenge your SLA or resin printer's abilities and to help calibrate x, y, and z dimensional shrinkage post-cure. Print Settings Printer: Moai Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Best Infill: None Notes: Print with Side "A" against the build plate This has no drain holes, yet is intended to be a hollow cube. You will need to pause the print after completing the layer just before the bottom of the cube is to be printed, lift it out of the resin, and let the resin drain for a few minutes. You could insert an object into the cube (Ship in a bottle sort of thing) at this point if desired, then resume the print. This test cube dispels the myth that you cannot print hollow objects without a drain hole in SLA, or print models without supports. All you need to do is the tool change maneuver, let the resin fully drain, then resume in the case of the hollow feature. This technique SHOULD be built into future resin printer slicers - not sure if it's in their plans. The Moai should be able to print this model without angling the model or hanging it on an angle on supports (that result in zits on the model after the supports are removed). I don't think the FormLabs or many other machines can do this, but prove me wrong by showing your makes here.
