Sleeping Dragon Self-Watering Mini Planter #Tinkerfun

A self-watering mini planter in the shape of a cute sleeping dragon. The plants would form the spikes/ridge on the dragon's back, so it's perfect for mini succulents. Or you can print it bigger and plant bigger things. The blue and white one in the photos was printed at 150%, and the all-white one was printed at 100%. At 100%, it's roughly 10cm wide, 16 cm long, and 13cm tall once put together (the base is ~5cm tall, and the top is ~8cm).The base and top have a nice geometric pattern made of circles that line up when the top is placed on the base the right way. It is designed to be easy to print with no supports required. There are simple instructions in the photos, but basically, put soil in the baskets of the base (line with cheesecloth or something similar if needed to keep the soil in, but the hole should be small enough at 100% that you don't need it); put the top on, making sure the holes line up; put soil and plants in the planter areas of the top, and fill the basin with water through the hole in the bubbles coming out of the dragon's nose. There's an emergency overflow drain in the side of the base, so if water starts coming out of there, you can stop putting water in. The drain is there to prevent water from flowing up into the planter part. The benefit of a self-watering planter is that the plant can take as much water as it needs through wicking from the basin, so there is not as much danger of over- or under-watering. That's great for people like me who are really bad at keeping plants alive because of that, or for people who take trips and need to leave their plants alone for a little while without being able to water them regularly. The blue and white planter that I printed was a prototype, and some things were fixed for the actual print. In the photo, you can see a line going across the blue part. That has been fixed, and so you should not have that problem in printing. You can see how it now looks in the all-white one. This object was made exclusively in Tinkercad. No other program was used to make this.
