slic3r 1.2.x XY compensation test

thingiverse

A very simple STL so that you can test the life-saving feature of "XY compensation" of series 1.2.x of slic3r, which compensates for the extra thickness of your output extrusion by making your shape "slimmer" (negative values) or "thicker" (positive values). Specially useful for fittings and holes. You will need a 8mm thick rod and a 3mm thick screw. This feature is also present in Cura 15.06.x and higher and Simplify3D 3.x and higher. slic3r 1.2.9: Print Settings → Advanced → Other → XY Compensation Cura 15.06: Print Setup → Quality → Horizontal Expansion Simplify3D 3.x: Other → Dimensional Adjustments → Horizontal size compensation Instructions Print a few of them by varying the "XY compensation" setings in slic3r 1.2.x (printer settings -> advanced). Then see how well a 8mm rod and a 3mm screw fit in the holes.
