I designed this model to give me a quick and easy way to disengage the security bar on my sliding door. The previous solution used a fiddly little bar that slid into a slot to stop the bar from going up. It was a two-handed operation to open the security bar, but with this model it can be opened one-handed.

I printed this with the main body laying on its back (with supports for the top spindle), and the latch laying on its side.

Other required parts:

Spring: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D76QQV6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_ud_dp_DE3F0FN69JWD2KG8C3S7

These are the springs I designed it around (it was what I had on hand), but I’m sure there are other options that would work.

1.5mm Stainless Steel Rod: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3VR43N?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_ud_dp_9F421HP8FJ38WJ0HXD3T

I cut off a small section of these rods (again, just what I had on hand) to use for the latch to spin on. The rod is held in by friction and the back of it is cut flush with the back of the model, so it is held in by that as well.

I included STLs, 3MFs, and a STEP of the model. I’m by no means a pro at CAD, so excuse my somewhat shoddy design skills.
