Sept 2022 Update:

The 1st version of the part broke (no surprise). I also had some issues with the hole spacing, and I realize that could be a problem for others as well. I've elongated the holes to make it easier to fit the screws, and I've added walls & a cross-brace to the bottom for support. The revised part prints cleaner (again, no supports required), is stronger, and mounts to the door (or frame) more easily.

I've kept the original versions here in case anyone wants to work with them, but to me they are an obsolete design. V03 will probably be the last iteration.

Instructions

All you need is the “V03 - Door Latch - Walls n Cross Support - Elongated Screw Holes.stl" file, and follow the print directions below.

Print with PLA (I recommend PLA+) on any printer of your choice. I've sliced and printed this successfully with both Simplify3D & an i3 Mega, and Cura 5.1 & an Ender 3 Pro (direct drive mod). The i3 Mega print used the following settings:

No Supports;

25% infill;

I can't remember layer height, but I wouldn't print it greater than than .18;

4500 mm/min (or slower);

5mm retraction;

Everything else default.

============================

Original Description

The original latch for my sliding door security lock bar wore out over a couple of years. This is a simple replacement.

There was a little post-processing work under the hooks, but not much. Overall, it's handled service for 2 weeks now showing no signs of issues.

The print in the picture had the screw holes 1mm closer together. With that distance, the screws had to drive in at an angle. The model I've uploaded has increased that distance, and should have resolved the problem. However, I haven't printed the updated version yet. Absolute worst case, if I overshot, the screws will have to drive in at the opposite angle.

Alternate Thingiverse Link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5489011
