This is a blank switch cover plate that you can use to stick your Phillips Hue Dimmer to the wall, next to an existing light switch. This is very specifically designed to work well with the Leviton screwless wall plates, and with the blank plate overtop of a solid wall. So a normal one-gang switch turns into a two-gang switch without drilling any holes in the wall! Which is how it's setup in my example pictures - the two real switches are in a box in the wall, and the Hue remote is attached to the cover plate on top of solid wall. It works great!! The remote is slightly south of center when it hangs on the wall, though in practice you probably won't notice it. My design has two holes for [12mm x 3mm magnets](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XVBL8SK?psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=keepi00-20&linkId=56532a7b5722a323d77f31852a6d25d7&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl). I think it would work with one magnet in each hole, but I ultimately went with two magnets in each hole (total of four) for a more secure hold on the remote. They are hot glued in place, though they do attract each other and stay in place pretty well, so I'd be curious if it would be alright to leave them unsecured. I really wanted this to work with the [Leviton screwless wall plate cover](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XVBL8SK?psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=keepi00-20&linkId=56532a7b5722a323d77f31852a6d25d7&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl), so that's what it's designed to fit, but it should be pretty universal. ## Remix Changes This is a remix of a solid design with a handful of tweaks: 1. The screwholes in the original were too close together vertically to fit the Leviton cover 2. The base was a little too thick for a clean mount over a wall, so that's thinner now 3. I needed the blank plate to stick out from the wall more, to account for the thickness of the screwless cover 4. Downsized the magnet holes for something I could source easily, and not have to destroy my factory Hue magnet plate for 5. Simplified the back - my printer was completely unable to print the snap ring from the original, so the back is now solid for ease of printing. Also included gaps around the magnets for hot glue deposits. If you want to continue this remix train, I've included my STEP file as well. ## Parts I Used * [12mm x 3mm magnets](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XVBL8SK?psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=keepi00-20&linkId=56532a7b5722a323d77f31852a6d25d7&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) - This was the best combination I could find of a size that's close to the original, and also readily available and cheap. * [Leviton screwless wall plate cover](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XVBL8SK?psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=keepi00-20&linkId=56532a7b5722a323d77f31852a6d25d7&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) - These are not particularly cheap, but they are always on the shelf at my local Home Depot. No reason this design shouldn't work with any switch cover though.
