Slimline TS-100 Grip

Slimline TS-100 Grip

thingiverse

While I really like the TS-100 soldering iron from a feature/hackability point of view the ergonomics aren't the best, especially for those with bigger hands. I had a look on Thingiverse and found no shortage of grip designs, but after printing a few and getting a better idea of what I was looking for thought I would have a go at designing my own. This design is similar to the TS-100 grip by PeacePrints (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3529728), just a little more slimline with a smaller lip that makes the iron handle a bit more like those from Hakko and Weller. Printed with TPU/TPE, eSUN eLASTIC TPE in my case, results in a comfortable grip that also offers some protection for the iron. Features: - Extra material around the buttons helps prevent accidental presses. - Small holes in the grip to fit a hex key allow swapping tips without removing the grip - Small flat spots help prevent the iron from rolling on a flat surface.
