This is a Slinky on a staircase... Remember Slinkys? Anyhow, of course it's sweeps of a rectangle on helices... When you go to draw one of these, of course you need many helices of varying tighnesses rotated to create the basic shape... And... you'd assume you could join them all, do the sweep and you're done... But NO! It's not possible to sweep the entire thing... At least MY PC crashed several times, trying... So OK, sweep each one individually, rotating the rectangle to go with the rotation of the next helix and twist the sweep... Nope... That doesn't work either! Bizarre! Oddly enough... And this is really counter-intuitive... The rectangle never needs to be rotated! Freaky! Try it once... It's a hoot! The last several helices are rotated nearly 180 degrees, and yet the rectangle needs to remain the same for each... Weird huh? Anyhow, Materials included, (Lather rinse repeat...)
