I wanted to make sure there was enough water exchange since my Guppies breed like... well... Guppies and before I knew it I had an overloaded 10 gallon tank. To make sure my tank has enough water flow for the filter to do its job and keep my fish healthy I tapped into my spares and found the pump for my 1.5 gallon starter tank. which i was previously using to create flow in the breeder box for the fry. A Tetra Whisper 3i. this is a 27gph filter and the pump system comes off easily. So I built this small adapter nozzle to turn the pump from this filter into a power head since i want circulation but I don't want so much current that the fry and other fish are stressed or risk getting sucked in to a 50+ gph power head. i have added a couple of different renditions to this 2 that have a venturi as well as a pump holder that will support your pump in the tank as well as deflect air bubble from any air stone that might be close to it. for the holder you will need a suction cup from an air line holder kit. as with the original make sure your supports will not plug the main tube and on the venturi you will need to make sure they do not fill the shroud as well, depending on layer height you may not need supports for anything other than the bottom layers anyway and i can tell you they will be an absolute pain to remove. DO print with supports for the tube and the bottom of the nozzle. I printed with normal just make sure to use support blocker for the nozzle portion and keep the tube from squaring off in the nozzle or the support will be extremely difficult to remove. including pics of my support blocker and the slice on my successful print. you can find my other adapter for this pump that will allow you to install an air line into it to add minimal flow into a breeder box in my creations.
