This is a small clamp that plugs into a weighted base as part of a modular clamping system. To make this, you'll need: 1 x 1/4-20 2" carriage bolt 1 x 1/4" nut 5 x No. 0 (4 x 1/2) wood screws You can find the base here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2759738 The clamp has replaceable jaws to fit different objects. Currently these include: - A flat jaw (https://www.thingiverse.com/download:4562734) - A jaw with a small 2 x 4 mm clamping area (https://www.thingiverse.com/download:4568331). This comes in two pieces that you glue together. - A jaw to hold small cylindrical pieces horizontally (https://www.thingiverse.com/download:4568330) The clamp opens to about 28 mm, depending on the kind of jaw you use. A Fusion 360 file with the jaw template is included. To Assemble 1) Slide the round, flat bit on the "clamp knob" into the slot in the back of the "clamp body" so that the central holes line up. Slide the carriage bolt through the holes on both pieces. The fit between the carriage bolt head and the inside of the knob should be snug, so make sure that the square section at the base of the bolt head is lined up with the square socket inside the knob before you try to press it in. 2) Fit the "knob cap" into the knob such that the screw holes line up. Secure the two pieces together with one No. 0 wood screw. 3) Put the 1/4" nut into the slot at the back of the "clamp slider" and slide it into the bearing surface of the clamp body until it reaches the threads of the carriage bolt. Screw it into place. 4) Screw the "clamp base" to the clamp body by screwing four No. 0 wood screws in the plugs on the four corners. NOTE: the screw heads will tend to force the walls of the bottom plugs apart, making for a tight fit into the sockets of the weighted base. Don't overtighten them. If the fit is too snug, file the outer edges of the sockets back slightly. The upside is that, if the edges wear until the fit is too loose, you can just tighten down the screws to restore the fit.
