Small Pulley v.1

Small Pulley v.1

thingiverse

This is a small generic pulley I designed which can be used for many applications. I designed and printed it for raising and lowering some flourescent light fixtures. Instructions This prints well with a 3D printer down to 50% of original size. I'm using a Replicator 2. I've printed at 100%, 75% , and 50% (pictured). For print settings of 100% and higher you can use 3 shells and a 40% infill for added strength. For smaller than 100%, 2 shells and 15% infill is adequate. Print time at 75% is 33 minutes. The cotter key fits quite snugly - and a pair of pliers can be used to gently lock it onto the pin. No supports are necessary. As you can see in the drawing, I added spokes to the wider part of the pulley wheel so that the printer can transition to the wider area without the need of additional support.
