A low cost, DIY seven segment display designed to accept 5mm LEDs. The largest cost item in this are the LEDs, which can range from ~1¢ to ~5¢ a piece, with total cost being well under $1 per display. Outside dimensions are 1.07"(~27mm) x .570"(~14.5mm). Flat top LEDs work the best for widest light dispersion, but normal convex top LEDs are perfectly suitable for this as well(glue will be required if using convex(round) top LEDs). Please print the body face down to get the sharpest lines possible to divide the segments. Make sure to disable all supports. It prints fine without them. You can use many different materials as the light diffuser, but a blank white shipping label sticker is the cheapest option that offers the best contrast. Plain white paper also works but you need a glue that won't readily saturate the paper.
