We aim to design a prosthetic especially for a fractured person. It might not help an amputated person much as we have not given much rigid support for holding. We will be initially making a design that allows flexible knee movement along with knee-caps to hold the legs and provide additional support. We also came with an idea to attach a spring along the hip region, extending till the knee to provide a comfortable extension. We aim to design a comfortable, durable and a load-bearable prosthetic for fractured patients to ease their movement. We intend to create a design which doesn’t give much load to the legs while moving. Our idea is to create a prosthetic, with sensors attached over a belt, across the hip, which sees the motion of the un-injured leg and replicates the motion and then makes the fractured leg follow it. We also intend to make this prosthetic much more durable and economical than the existing prosthetics by using low cost yet durable materials. We plan on creating a Computer Aided Design model of the prosthetic in Solid works and then simulate in Ansys for testing its efficiency and selecting appropriate material and inserting sensors accordingly and finally simulate the working of the model.
