SMD Part Reel Storage

This is a SMD reel part storage and dispenser I designed as a way to organize and store many reels. There are two main parts, the tape dispensers and the brackets to hold 35mm DIN Rail for the dispensers, and ½" rod to hold the reels.

The only parts you need for it that can't be printed are the DIN rail which can be bought at electrical supply stores. You will need some kind of ½" dowel or rod as well, I used threaded rod but I would advise against that… The reels would slide onto a smooth rod better.

There are 3 main parts to the dispensers, an inside, outside and a clip to hold the label. The pieces slide together after printing and the label clip goes on the front. There is a compliant mechanism to keep the tape in the dispensers. Simply clip the dispensers on the DIN rail and feed the tape in from the top. There are dispensers for 8 and 12mm tape.

I printed out of PETG at 0.2mm layer height for a bit more flexibility and strength. The tolerances are fairly tight but if the pieces don't stay together increase your material flow a bit.
