Smith Corona Carriage Release Handle

Smith Corona Carriage Release Handle

A collection of typewriters has assembled in my home. Many need repair. I designed this replacement handle or lever for the carriage release on my Smith Corona Galaxie (1964) which was missing one handle. This same handle is used on very many Smith Corona models in the 1960's and later, so hopefully this helps someone else. It's my first "curvy" design. It's by no means perfect, or a precise replica, but it's pretty close and it works. Both left and right sides use the same part, it just slides on and off. To look great, I printed in ABS and then lightly applied acetone with a cue tip, after which it shines and looks great. Oh, in the pictures the one in the middle is original (1964), the two new ones (so they match) are left/right.
