<p>3d printed extension box for relais next to power strip</p> <p>how this works:</p> <ul> <li>buy a cheap smoke detector</li> <li>connect a cable on pin7 from chip inside smoke detector (there are 9V DC comming out when alarm is triggered) works with almost every smoke detector!</li> <li>bring this signal to a voltage divider and then to a 5V arduino relay shield (needs separate small 5V power supply)</li> <li>put all the electronics in the 3d printed extension box next to your power strip</li> </ul> <p>you can also put a small powersupply inside the 3d printed enclosure, so the smoke detector doesn't need any battery.
